As AI Gets Stronger, What Becomes Scarcer?

I spent more than half an hour talking with AI tonight. We started with technology, moved on to society, and ended up discussing human worth. Three thoughts stayed with me.
1. The gap begins with how we see things
AI is moving fast, but recognizing a trend and acting on it are two different things. Time, ability, and the pressures of everyday life all shape our choices. Everyone moves at their own pace.
Those differences will grow over time. What matters is not how much we know, but whether we can turn understanding into action.
2. This time, more than efficiency is changing
Machines used to extend our physical abilities. AI is now moving into judgment, creativity, and decision-making.
It could reshape how the economy works, how power is distributed, and even the rules of society. On one hand, individuals gain powerful tools. On the other, those who control computing resources, models, and rules may accumulate even more power.
If we get used to handing our judgment over to AI, our ability to think independently may actually weaken.
3. Choosing and acting become more valuable
Opportunities keep multiplying, but our energy is finite.
Instead of chasing every new trend, we might do better to choose a direction, adjust as we go, and keep digging deeper. Think of taking a powerful tool and using it to drill one deep hole.
Education needs to catch up too. AI is lowering the barrier to programming. Writing code is increasingly a means to an end; understanding needs, creating excellent products, and bringing them to market matter more.
We still need to learn the fundamentals. But assessment needs to change quickly, placing more weight on whether people can use AI to solve real problems, rather than simply give the expected answers.
Ultimately, the easier intelligence becomes to access, the scarcer independent judgment, focus, and the ability to get things done become.
